OCA Trail Run

Today was an great day as I shared a very long training run from Westchester County to NYC with a whole bunch of great people. We began this morning with 14 runners at the Croton-Harmon train station and made our way to the Croton Reservoir Dam where we headed south. The majority of our day was spent on the Old Croton Aqueduct Trail (OCA) and ended with some urban running through The Bronx, Harlem, Central Park and finally down Fifth Avenue to the NYC Public Library.

Tony, Herb, Susan, Pete and I made the entire trek totaling approximately 44 miles while the others peeled off at varying points along the way. I will give a more detailed report this week as I am sure Tony will too. Thanks go out to Tony for organizing this great day.

  1. 44 miles! holy macaroni! talk about kicking it up a notch! Isn't it fun watching people 'peel off' as you keep going. I wish all my clients were as motivated as you. Keep up the good work! Actually, we should call it the 'good play" cuz it must have been fun.

  2. Thanks Heather. It was a great day all around. I need to go work out some of the aftermath on a bike later today:)

  3. Eric...yesterday was amazing...thanks for the good company. I'm happy to have found your blog and get a look at gorgeous Isla! wow...she is one stunning baby. You guys do good work. I enjoyed your post about her birth--from the female perspective, the biggest similarity between ultras and labor, is the part where once you're done, you completely forget about the pain and can't wait to do it again. The biggest difference, is that the next day, it's not your ITB that's sore! Hope to see you at Caumsett.

  4. Eric sorry NY last week didn't work out...I'll give you a heads up next time I'm out. Sounds like your 44 miler was great run...keep on it.
