The MMRF Runs Boston

Yesterday morning 25,000 participants took part in the 114th running of the Boston Marathon. Among the many running for charitable causes, eleven runners were out there to raise awareness and much needed funds for the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation.

The training alone is a long and grueling adventure and one of your rewards is the completion of the 26.2 miles. However, I am sure the greatest prize is how proud you all must feel knowing your efforts have helped a much greater cause. You have all participated in an amazing event and raised nearly $50,000 for MMRF.

Congratulations to all of you for participating and completing the 2010 Boston Marathon for the MMRF.

I also want to recognize Alicia O'Neill and Jane Hoffmann who tirelessly run the Marathon Program offering endless support to all runners who join around the country.

As many of you know the MMRF is close to my heart and I run to support this cause as I have been inspired by so many who live so courageously. The MMRF relentlessly pursues innovative means that accelerate the development of next-generation multiple myeloma treatments to extend the lives of patients and lead to a cure.
